When Professor Nicolas Bazan published his work on elovanoids, the molecules the brain and retina make to protect their own cells, we worked with him to bring it to the screen in two minutes.
Molecular Guardians follows the science straight from his research: how elovanoids sustain synaptic plasticity and protect neurons after brain injury and in Alzheimer's disease. The aim was to take findings that sit inside a journal and make them clear to anyone, without losing the accuracy a scientist of his standing expects.
The film accompanies his invited Behind the Paper article for Springer Nature Research Communities (14 April 2026) and the team's study in Communications Biology on elovanoid neuroprotection after brain injury. This is what we do: research you've already published, given a second life as something people can watch and take in.
